Norfolk Highlands

Situated in Chesapeake between Greenbrier Pkwy and Indian River Rd, this neighborhood is one of my favorite areas for people seeking to buy a detached home for under or around $200k. There are also several other neighborhoods that are close by that fit the description.  Here are the numbers for 2008 so far:

There are currently 50 homes for sale between $147k and $339k.

32 homes have sold so far this year.
From the 32, 15 sold below the asking price, 9 sold at the asking price, and 8 sold above the asking price.  Does this look like Hampton Roads is in a depressed real estate market?  I don't think so.  A few days ago, I focused on a Va. Beach neighborhood with similar stats.  Our market is definitely in favor of buyers, but as you can see, homes are still moving and sellers are still fairly happy.  In my opinion, we are in a normal market.
